DESTROY the ILLUSION
A downloadable soundtrack
INTRODUCTIONS:
Hello! Thank you for listening and reviewing this soundtrack. I have been a follower of the OST Jams for a while, and have been aching to get back into it ever since #4. To clear any confusion off the bat, I used the text prompt for inspiration. This soundtrack is a love letter to all the platformers I have been playing for all of my life, along with some new composing styles I learned over the years. The genre is sort of a mix between synth, hip-hop, and retro/chiptune. With all of that said, the Soundcloud playlist is just above, and downloads are below the description. Please Enjoy!
STORY:
While scoping out a garage sale, Teddy stumbled upon a talking crystal ball! After buying it for $4, the crystal ball promised Teddy that he would grant any wish, in return for freedom. Teddy decided to listen to the orb, and wished to be in a video game! However, it turned out the whole thing was a trap, and the voice in the crystal ball was none other than the Specter of Illusions
After setting the fiend free, the specter trapped Teddy in the crystal prison, while creating a fantasy world inside of it! The world was an amalgamation of many video game tropes, so in a way he got his wish! But in order to escape, he needs to beat each level to make his way out. His only goal: DESTROY THE ILLUSION!!
TRACKS:
Select your Illusion: This is a typical Select screen. This can double as the Main title if you want… or not!
Welcome to your (over)world: Definitely a level 1 kind of deal. Y'know, like the green grass and the simple platforms and the upbeat music to make you forget your troubles and woes!
Please invest in my Pyramid Scheme: So this is a desert level, although it can't make up its mind if it's Egypt, or a Western Town.
This Song is So Cold, You'll need a Blanket: You ever just smell snow? Yeah that's this song.
Help! My Song is Stuck in a Tree!: This is the obligatory jungle level that has a huge tree in the center of the map you have to climb. It's visually cool, but also makes no sense botanically.
Training song to Train to: It would be rude if the Specter left this dude without giving him rules, so this is basically where he teaches him his powers.
How about this one (Question Mark): There's a shop. Buy a potion or an item. That'll be $15.
You Did It!: Yippie.mp3

Concluding Statements:
I think a lot of people in this competition feel this way, but this kind of music is important. I grew up listening to video game music, so I am so glad to be closer to making this kind of music, because I hope one day my songs make an impact like those older tunes did to me. Thank you for listening!
